About UsThe Parlour Historic Inn & Suites was originally built in 1871 but was named The Mansion House, a 36 room hotel and dining room. It was built to serve the Grand Trunk Railway and it’s repair shops nearby. An interesting characteristic was the fact that it had a ladies waiting room where the wives used to wait for their husbands to finish their business or social meetings. Located in downtown Stratford, The Olde English Parlour has been a popular restaurant and pub with an Olde English flavour for many years. The Parlour of today has kept the tin ceilings and etched glass windows of the past but has been fully restored and features beautiful woodwork and stained glass not often seen in today’s restaurants. Featuring 14 beautiful guest rooms, this historic inn is now owned by Randy Simpson and Bill Windsor, both of Stratford. They have combined hospitality experience of over 40 years and take incredible pride in the re-development of this historic inn. The 240 seat dining room features traditional English fare, contemporary creations and the best desserts in town. An English pub compliments the experience with many draughts and ales on tap and a great pub menu. What would an English experience be without a trip to the local pub? In keeping with the character of the original building but with a modern flare, the guest rooms are designed with unique layouts, queen and king sized beds, whirlpool bathtubs and luxurious bedding. The Inn is located just 1 block from the Avon Theatre, one of the many venues of the world famous “Stratford Festival of Canada”. The Inn is continuing to evolve and we will be including some modern amenties for our guests such as an elevator. Watch this website for exciting news about our expansion! The Parlour, “Something Olde, perfected into something New”. View Upcoming EventsInterested in joining our team? See EMPLOYMENT to learn about current positions. |
